The City of Taunton (pop. 55,000) is centrally located in the heart of Southeastern Massachusetts. Nationally recognized cultural and sporting venues are nearby in Boston and Providence. The beaches of Cape Cod and the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont are just a short drive away.
Taunton is home to two large industrial parks, with employers including Jordan's Furniture, General Dynamics, and Tribe Mediterranean Foods. Other major employers include Morton Hospital and Bristol County Savings Bank, both located in the City's historic, pedestrian-friendly downtown.
For those in pursuit of recreation, the Taunton area offers state parks and wildlife sanctuaries for hiking, fishing, and boating; theater, music and dance venues for cultural experiences; and numerous youth and adult sports programs.
