Thank you to all who came out and supported this year's Spring Fair. We hope those of you that did have a chance to come out enjoyed yourselves as well as the great weather! While we still have some outstanding expenses, we were able to raise approximately $2000 for the PTO's continued activities at Bennett School.
A special thank you also to all of the Bennett parents and staff who helped make it an enjoyable day for everyone. This event takes over 60 volunteers on the day of the fair to run smoothly. It also takes a core group of volunteers to plan it. The planning begins on a small scale in January with an organizational meeting and then meets more frequently during the 2 months prior to the fair. Additional volunteers help by completing some of the necessary preperation tasks from home.
While this event has been a source of family fun and pleasure in the past, the number of volunteers has dwindled over recent years to a very low number (less than 20). This may very well have been our last Spring Fair at Bennett as it's a volunteer run event. Without those volunteers, we cannot manage a successful event. We hope to incorporate some of the games and activities into another type of family event in the future. Your ideas and suggestions are welcome.
