Welcome to the Leddy Preschool Speech Department!
February - This month, the Speech Department is working on concepts related to shadows and reflections and all things winter. The students will be learning about shadows, what makes shadows, and how shadows change. We will also be talking about winter...since we have so much snow to play in!
In the event that we have some snow days this month and need some activities to do with your children, here is a list of things that you can do to stimulate their language. Playing is a crucial component to your child’s learning. Play helps to promote several social and cognitive skills including turn-taking, language concepts, following directions, and building vocabulary. There are a variety of toys and games that can be used at home to help enhance your child’s language development, e.g.
Moonbear’s Shadow by Frank Asch
Shadows and Reflections by Tana Hoban
I Love My Shadow! By Hans Wilhem
