Health Education/Introduction to Wellness is a required subject for all sophomores at Taunton High School. This course meets for one semester and is divided into two nine week courses. Health topics include: first aid and safety, personal health, nutrition, substance abuse, human sexuality, growth & development. Introduction to Wellness provides and in-depth study of the components of wellness and an introduction to physical education units.
Physical Education, Health and Wellness are required subjects for graduation from Taunton High School. Sixty percent attendance and participation is necessary to receive a grade in physical education. Students who are unable to participate must secure a doctor's excuse in September of that school year stating the reason. No credit will be given to students with medical exemptions. Physical education offerings include Project Adventure, Aerobics/Dance, Weight/Cross Training, Volleyball, Basketball, Racquet Sports, Yoga and games.

This course meets for a semester. Students select four activities - two for each 9 week term.
