Taunton High School's Program of Studies |
| (Air Force Junior ROTC Program) |
The Air Force Junior ROTC Program seeks to help each student become a better person by instilling citizenship values, a passion for service, personal responsibility, and a sense of community. The JROTC cadet is expected to participate in cadet activities and meet the corps grooming and classroom standards. As part of the curriculum, the cadets will wear the uniform, learn how to march, and be involved in a team fitness activity once per week. It is a course requirement for cadets to take part in cadet dances, parades, fund-raisers, award ceremonies, physical fitness activities, community service projects and encampments. Failure to wear the uniform will result in a failing grade for the course.
Cadets may elect to take the Aerospace courses for honors credit if they have at least a B average in their first and second year Aerospace classes. Cadets must declare that intention to their teacher before the first term progress reports in each semester are issued. Please review honors expectations with the ROTC staff.
