Mark Ottavianelli :
Athletic Director

Taunton High School encourages the participation of all students in our athletic department,
in accordance with the T.H.S. Athletic Handbook, which is given to all student-athletes prior to the start of each
season. Students must have a physical on file to participate. We pride ourselves on being a highly competitive Division One program in
the state of Massachusetts. Currently, students are asked to pay a
$25.00 participation fee per season. This money goes directly into the athletic department account and is used to supplement the athletic
needs of our students. All students participating in interscholastic
sports are required to sign the waiver of responsibility. (The parent
will accept full responsibility for cost of treatment for any injury sustained by child while taking part in
athletics).

TAUNTON HIGH SCHOOL ELIGIBILITY RULES
A student-athlete is eligible in the fall sports season if they have attained twenty-five credits in the previous academic year. All student-athletes must attain the equivalent of fifteen credits each marking period. All fees, lost texts, etc. impact eligibility.
In order to participate in a team activity, student athletes must be present in school on that specific day. They must adhere to attendance policies as defined in the student handbook on pgs. 9 & 10. Teachers may fill out blue forms for academic concerns. Students must arrive to school before 8:15 a.m. and may not be dismissed before 11:15 a.m. in order to participate in a team sponsored activity on that day.
Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (M.I.A.A.) ELIGIBILITY RULES
Eligibility rule violations may result in forfeiture of a game won. If there is any doubt concerning your eligibility, consult the athletic director. The M.I.A.A. Standing Committee on Athletics will resolve all questions on eligibility.
INTRAMURAL SPORTS PROGRAM
The purpose of the T.H.S. Intramural Program is to provide after school organized sports to those who do not wish to participate in interscholastic competition. In most instances the activities are co-educational and open to all students, freshmen through seniors.
