It is with great excitement that I welcome Kathleen DeCouta as the newly appointed Principal of the James L. Mulcahey Elementary School. Kathleen's career has spanned 16-years and several schools throughout our District. She has excelled throughout her tenure in Taunton having served as teacher, literacy coach and assistant principal. In her current role as the Joseph H. Martin Middle School Assistant Principal, Kathleen has implemented efficient systems and practices throughout the school. Kathleen has a passion for instruction and curriculum development. Katie has a leadership style that is very collaborative and open-minded, and one of her greatest strengths is her ability to establish a school culture and educational environment which will encourage continuous learning and accountability on both students and staff. She is very eager to start her new role and looking forward to getting to know all the Mulcahey students, parents and staff. Taunton Schools is eager and excited to begin another great school year under Mrs. DeCouta’s leadership at Mulcahey.
