A Note from the Nurse
The cold weather has arrived. Unfortunately, it also brings with it the dreaded cold and flu season. Remember to practice good hand washing and getting enough sleep as some preventative measures to try to stay healthy! See the link for helpful facts regarding colds vs. the flu from the Centers for Disease Control.
Healthy snacks are important to keep children learning. Healthy snacks help to satisfy a child's hunger between meals and boost his/ her energy level. A few examples of nutritious snacks are fresh fruit, chopped raw veggies with dip, pita chips with hummus or even homemade baked items where you can control what type of ingredients are used. See the link below for no bake snow balls from super healthy kids website. It's a fun, yummy, but healthy snack that is quick to make!
