Fan Favorite Mr. THS Competition Brings Laughs, Happy Tears, and Hidden Talents to Robert Park Auditorium

 

TAUNTON-Taunton High School’s Ms. Caitlin Dermody and Superintendent Cabral are excited to share that the annual Mr. THS competition was a success yet again. The friendly competition saw 10 of Taunton High School’s seniors showcasing their hidden talents, flashiest outfits, wholesome speeches, and more at Taunton High School’s Robert Park Auditorium for a chance at bragging rights, the Tiger throne, and a free tuxedo rental from Tux Towne for prom.


This year’s show was hosted by ​​students Covu Fernandes, Bridget MacDougall, and Jenna Pereira.


Each of the 10 participants were accompanied by a manager, also a Taunton High School senior, who assisted in the participants' talents and activities throughout the show:

  • Ryan Keenan with manager Jillian Emond
  • Jose Touron with manager Neely Ladino
  • Ethan Harris with Olivia Reposa
  • Quincy Jacobs with manager Erin Crehan
  • Dmitrius Shearrion with manager Casey O’Leary
  • Gabe Tai with manager Joseana Gomes

To determine a winner, participants were judged in the following segments: Opening Video, Talent Show, Beachwear, Formalwear, and Teacher Appreciation.


Competition judges were faculty and staff from Taunton High School.


Congratulations are in order to this year’s winner, Zach Gay, who put on a crowd-pleasing show with his saxophone rendition of “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire, throwback Tiger band wear, creative beachwear, and more. Zach also honored his father, THS guidance counselor Mr. Gregory Gay, for the parenting and educating he has done to aid Zach in his success thus far.


Superintendent Cabral is grateful to all students, staff, and family who help make activities, such as Mr. THS, possible for our student body. Superintendent Cabral commends Mr. THS competitors and their managers for sharing the joyful spirit surrounding the walls of Taunton High School each day.
