Taunton Public Schools is proud to share outstanding news about our students’ performance on the Spring 2025 MCAS exams, taken during the 2024–2025 school year, with results released earlier this fall. Across the district, students continue to demonstrate impressive academic progress, including 12 students who earned a perfect score on their English Language Arts or Mathematics assessments. These achievements reflect tremendous skill, effort, and perseverance and highlight the strong teaching and learning happening in every one of our schools.
To celebrate these accomplishments, Superintendent John Cabral visited classrooms across Taunton on Friday, November 21, personally delivering trophies and certificates to students who earned a perfect score. Several of the students recognized have achieved this distinction before, making their continued excellence especially remarkable and a point of pride for their schools.

In addition to celebrating perfect scores, the district is proud to recognize more than 500 students who achieved 90% or higher academic growth compared to their peers across the state. Growth scores provide a clear picture of how much progress a student has made, and reaching this level demonstrates strong effort, effective instruction, and meaningful learning over time. Certificates recognizing this achievement are being delivered to students to honor their progress and reinforce the importance of growth alongside high achievement.
Superintendent Cabral noted that these accomplishments reflect both individual dedication and the collective strength of the district. “These successes show what is possible when students feel supported, challenged, and connected,” he said. “I am incredibly proud of every student who demonstrated growth last school year, and I am grateful to the educators and families who helped make that success possible.”
School Committee Chair Dr. Gregory DeMelo also expressed pride in the district’s performance, emphasizing the role of strong community partnerships in student success. “Our students’ achievements reflect the commitment of families, educators, and school leaders working together,” he shared. “We are incredibly proud of the progress happening across Taunton Public Schools, and we remain dedicated to creating learning environments where every child can thrive.”
The district’s MCAS results highlight encouraging momentum across grade levels and underscore the continued implementation of rigorous curriculum, targeted instructional supports, and engaging learning environments outlined in the Taunton Public Schools Strategic Plan. As the district remains focused on helping every student reach their full potential, these achievements serve as a powerful reminder of the talent, resilience, and promise found in classrooms across Taunton.
Taunton Public Schools congratulates all students who earned a perfect score and all who demonstrated exceptional growth. Their achievements reflect the bright future of our school community and our shared commitment to ensuring that every student feels a sense of belonging and is empowered to succeed.
