Taunton Public Schools Sets June 30 as Last Day of School for 2025–2026

Taunton Public Schools has finalized the last day of school for the 2025–2026 school year.

The last day of school will be Tuesday, June 30, 2026. This will be an early release day for students in Grades 1–11. Schools will dismiss students two hours earlier than their regular schedule.

Following seven snow days this winter, the School Committee met on March 18 to determine how to complete the school year.

Decision on the 180-Day Requirement

The district reviewed several options to make up the missed days, including the possibility of requesting a waiver from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

After reviewing these options, the district decided not to request a waiver. This decision reflects a fiscally responsible approach that balances the district’s commitments to teachers and staff. It also ensures that students receive a full year of instruction and that staff who are paid based on days worked receive their full compensation.

Key Dates for the Remainder of the School Year

  • Good Friday (April 3): No school

  • April Vacation: April 20–24 (no change)

  • Early Release Day: May 13 (as scheduled)

  • Memorial Day (May 25): No school

  • High School Graduation: Sunday, June 7

Individual schools will share additional information with caregivers about end-of-year schedules, events, and activities in the coming weeks.

A Message to Caregivers
