Holding a Bachelor of Arts from Canisius College in New York, a Master of Science in Education from the State University of New York in Oswego, NY, a second Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership and Administration both from Bridgewater State University underscores Chris’ value for professional growth and his personal love of learning.
His diverse professional background includes employment as an Alternative Educational Social Studies teacher in Malone, NY, Special Educator at the Pilgrim Center for the Development of Life in Braintree, MA, Moderate Special Needs Teacher in Boston, Assistant Principal in Dorchester, MA as well as Principal of Middle Schools in Taunton, Norton and most recently as Director of Transportation and Student Services in Taunton. Varying employment roles and responsibilities and locales offers Chris a broad view of approaches to instruction, the importance of school community, the interrelationship of all elements of school operation upon student achievement and the ever present need to be aware of and advocate for ongoing professional development for our staff.
Having worked as the educational leader in various schools, Chris understands data analysis, its importance, and its impact on instructional strategies. As Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Chris will leverage those skills in providing guidance and support to the professional staff as they continue to improve their instructional practices, create successful classroom and school climates that promote academic excellence and sustain a focus on Taunton’s forward momentum.
