Taunton Public Schools partners with H&L Bloom Bus Lines to provide school bus transportation for students in grades K–12. Transportation is not available for Preschool or PreK students.
Students in grades 8–12 who live within two miles (walking distance) of Taunton High School are not eligible for school bus transportation, as permitted under Massachusetts law. Transportation is also not provided for School Choice students or Hardship placement students.
If your student is a walker, the district may be able to provide a bus pass through GATRA. Please contact Taunton High School to request a pass. GATRA Route 5 and Route 7 stop at Taunton High School.
Transportation is not provided for students attending Taunton Alternative High School, Taunton Public Virtual Academy, or participating in the Extended Day program.
Taunton Public Schools provides van transportation for students with Individual Education Programs (IEPs), students experiencing homelessness under the McKinney-Vento Act, and students in foster care.
If a student qualifies for van transportation, this service is provided even if the student would not qualify for a school bus, such as living within the two-mile walking distance of Taunton High School.
GATRA, the Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority, is the public transportation system in the City of Taunton.
There are two routes that stop at Taunton High School on weekdays: Route 5 and Route 7:
- Route 5 serves the East Taunton area. Stops include Walmart (Paramount Drive, Raynham), Middleborough Ave, Hart’s Four Corners, and ends at Target in Taunton.
- Route 7 travels between Taunton Bus Terminal and Walmart on Paramount Dr in Raynham.
- Stops Outbound include Main Street & School Street, Winter Street & School Street, Taunton High School (see times on schedule), Shaw’s, Staples, and ALDI.
- Stops Inbound include Staples & ALDI, Shaw’s, S Main Street & Dean Street, Taunton High School (see times on schedule), School Street & Winter Street, and Downtown Courthouse.
If your student is designated as a walker at Taunton High School, the District may be able to provide a GATRA pass. Please contact Taunton High School to request one.
