About the Extended Day Program

The Taunton Extended Day Program is a nonprofit, fee-based program operated by Taunton Public Schools. Designed to support working caregivers, the program provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students before and after the school day.

Students have opportunities to learn, play, and build positive relationships in a well-supervised setting. The program is designed to support students' academic, social, and creative development while providing families with reliable before-school and after-school care.

Daily programming includes outdoor play, homework and academic support, arts and crafts, cooking activities, dramatic play, and other enrichment opportunities.

The Taunton Extended Day Program strives to meet the individual needs and interests of students while fostering a sense of belonging, responsibility, and community.

Who Can Participate?

Students enrolled in Taunton Public Schools full-day PreK programs and students attending Taunton Public Schools elementary and middle schools may participate, subject to space availability.

*Galligan Elementary School students enrolled in the Taunton Extended Day Program will be transported to and from the Bennett Extended Day Program location. Parent drop-off and pick-up for Extended Day participants will take place at the Bennett location.

*Parker Middle School students enrolled in the Taunton Extended Day Program will be transported to and from the Martin Middle School Extended Day Program location. Parent drop-off and pick-up for Extended Day participants will take place at Martin Middle School.

During summer vacation and school vacation weeks, the Taunton Extended Day Program provides full-day care for enrolled students. All vacation and summer programming is held at Elizabeth Pole Elementary School. The program operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Summer Program Eligibility: Extended Day summer programming is available for students entering kindergarten through middle school. Students enrolled in full-day PreK programs are not eligible to participate in the summer program.
