Early Childhood Special Education (Ages 3-5)

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) provides free support and services for children ages 3 to 5 with developmental delays or disabilities. Services may include specialized instruction, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and family support. ECSE helps children build skills and prepare for success in school while learning alongside peers whenever possible.

Preschool Services

Preschool special education services support young children with developmental delays or disabilities. Services may be provided in inclusive preschool settings or specialized programs based on student needs. If your child attends Head Start or Old Colony YMCA, services may be provided at those locations through our itinerant team.

Referral Process

Parents, guardians, and community providers may refer a child for a preschool evaluation by contacting the Special Education Department or the child’s assigned school.

Transition from Early Intervention
