What Student Services & Transportation Does
Student Services
- Monitoring student attendance and disciplinary matters, including bullying investigations
- Overseeing Registration and Enrollment
- Coordinating Title IX (support related to sex-based discrimination, harassment, and gender equity)
- Overseeing the Extended Day (before- and after-school) program
- Serving as the district liaison for McKinney-Vento (support for students experiencing housing instability) and the Department of Children and Families (DCF)
- Supporting the Family Welcome Center at Parker Middle School (508-844-5856)
- Connecting students and caregivers to community-based support services
- Coordinating with Taunton Juvenile Court on Children Requiring Assistance (CRA) matters related to attendance and behavioral concerns
- Reviewing homeschooling, school choice, and hardship applications

Student Attendance
Regular school attendance helps students stay connected to learning, build routines, and participate fully in school life. Taunton Public Schools works with students and caregivers to support positive attendance habits and address barriers to regular attendance.
Extended Day
The Taunton Extended Day Program provides before- and after-school care for elementary and middle school students in Taunton Public Schools. The program offers a safe, supervised environment with academic support, outdoor play, and enrichment activities.
Family Welcome Center
The Taunton Public Schools Family Welcome Center supports students and caregivers with school registration, enrollment, language assessments, and connections to community resources and programs. The center includes bilingual staff who speak Portuguese, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.
Student Handbooks
Student handbooks include important information about school expectations, attendance, discipline, safety, student rights and responsibilities, and available supports and services.
Bullying Prevention & Intervention Plan
The Taunton Public Schools Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan outlines the district’s approach to preventing, reporting, investigating, and responding to bullying. The plan also includes strategies and supports that help promote a safe and supportive school environment for all students.
Title IX
Title IX protects students and employees from sex-based discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in school programs and activities. Taunton Public Schools is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and equitable learning and working environment for all students and staff.
McKinney-Vento
& Department of Children and Families (DCF)
Taunton Public Schools works with students and caregivers experiencing housing instability, foster care placement, or involvement with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Support may include school enrollment assistance, transportation coordination, access to resources, and help maintaining school stability.
Children Requiring Assistance &
Taunton Juvenile Court
Taunton Public Schools works with the Taunton Juvenile Court to support students and caregivers experiencing ongoing attendance or behavioral concerns. This partnership helps connect families with school-based and community resources that support student success and regular school attendance.
