Yes. SchoolMint allows caregivers to save progress and return later to finish registration or upload documents.

    School Assignment and Eligibility
How is my student’s school determined?

Elementary and middle school assignments are based on a student’s home address and grade level.

All students in Taunton attend Taunton High School.

Can I request a specific school?

School placements are determined by address. Caregivers who would like to request a different school placement may submit a hardship placement request. Some programs, including School Choice and PreK, follow separate placement or lottery processes.

What age does my student need to be for kindergarten?

Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31 to enroll in kindergarten.

What age does my student need to be for PreK?

Children must be 4 years old on or before Aug. 31 to enroll in PreK.

    PreK and Preschool
    Is PreK free?

The PreK program is free starting with the 2026-2027 school year. Program availability depends on seat capacity and placement.

How does the PreK lottery work?

Applications submitted during the lottery window are grouped together before placements are assigned. Submitting early during the lottery period does not improve placement chances.

    School Choice
Is transportation provided for School Choice students?

No. Transportation is not provided for School Choice students.

Do students need to reapply for School Choice every year?

    After Registration
How will I know if my registration is complete?

Caregivers will receive updates through SchoolMint as documents are reviewed and processed. Caregivers will receive an email and/or text message if additional information is needed.

What should I do after registration is approved?

Caregivers should continue monitoring email and ParentSquare for transportation information and additional next steps.

  • Each year, caregivers of returning students update emergency contact and health information and complete required forms, such as the media release, handbook acknowledgment, and technology agreement.

Annual re-registration is done through SchoolMint.
